Robert and Michael’s Farewell Party

Well, as you have read before in this blog, we had two very important people working here. You already met them through this blog and, for the lucky ones, at the front desk. Yeah, we are talking about Robert from the USA and Michael from Brasil. As a good family, we celebrated their farewell party twice. If you were staying here those dates, you probably were part of this and you probably also tried the Chilean taste of a good asado and the famous "Terremotos". Following this, we show you some of the best pictures ever taken in this hostel (if you wanna see more, check out our album on Facebook). As a team we want to say that this isn´t a good bye, it´s a “See you soon, guys”. Thanks for being part of the Hostal Forestal Family.

Art Invasion !

Hostal Forestal recently received a visit from New York City graffiti artist and muralist Matt, AKA Jedi5. Jedi was in town to visit his close friend and hostal employee Brooklyn Rob, as well as to get to know some local Chilean artists in Santiago and Valparaiso.
While in town Matt took the opportunity to make his mark on the hostal in the form of a mural which reads “¡Viva Chile!” and features the famous Chilean comic book character, Condorito. To see more of Matt´s work you can visit his website: www.intelligentgraffiti.com
Brooklyn Rob also wanted to leave a reminder of his time working at the hostal, so using the extra paint he created a mural of his own. His piece reads “Bienvenidos al Hostal Forestal” and welcomes guests as they climb the stairs to the 2nd floor.
Many thanks to owners Rodrigo and Benjamin for supporting the arts and allowing two Brooklyn boys to add a little flavor to Santiago´s best hostal!
